This programme was set up in memory of our colleague and friend Rose Scott.
The LifeSkills programme is focused, therefore, on helping anyone over the age of 18 in the community who needs support at transitory periods in their life.
It may be that they’re a parent who no longer cares for their child because they’ve gone to school and now they don’t know what to do with their free time, or they might keep getting rejected from job interviews with no explanation as to why.
Every 6 weeks we take on new groups of people for a programme comprising of 6-10 weekly sessions. Each session typically runs for 2 hours at a time.
Over the course of the programme we will cover topics such as:
• Understanding their learning styles
• Finance and budgeting
• Interviewing skills
• Reviewing achievements
• Boosting confidence
• Overcoming the fears of returning to work, and
• Topics requested by our learners
The sessions are collaborative, educational and hands-on, catering to a range of abilities. At the end of the programme participants also receive a certificate awarded by Barclays Bank.
